Abstract

This study examines the impact of new technologies and digital media on language use, communication patterns, and sociolinguistic dynamics in the digital age. It explores the ways in which technology has transformed language and communication, providing new avenues for linguistic creativity and expression. The study also investigates the effects of digital communication on social interaction, examining how people adapt their language to fit the digital medium and how this influences the development of new linguistic conventions and norms. The study utilizes qualitative and quantitative research methods to analyze the changes and trends resulting from increased digital communication. To gather the necessary information and insights for this study, a comprehensive literature review was conducted. This involved searching and reviewing scholarly articles, books, reports, and other relevant sources that delve into the topic of language and communication in the digital age. The findings suggest that the internet and other digital platforms have significantly influenced language practices, leading to the evolution of new communication forms and styles. The study also identifies the emergence of digital communities and the role they play in shaping language use and sociolinguistic norms. Through a review of existing research and analysis of data from various digital platforms and communication tools, this study aims to contribute to a deeper understanding of the complex relationship between technology, language, and communication in the digital age.
